Artists Comments:

This is an approximation of the way these individual placemats were planned to be exhibited. Otherwise it is an assembly put together for the stairwell in my former home.

There are about 4-5 main layouts; I chose one collage and enlarged it using a color photocopier, then laminated at local venues. The enlarged views were then interspersed with the more densely packed collages or placemats.

Emotionally I was opening my consciousness to the vastness inspired by the found images that flashed across my table space. This trying to make sense of it all was extremely beneficial for me spiritually, although they are a little difficult to comprehend, which is understandable.

I was also playing with the printed image as part of my repetoire as a printmaker, aware of the impact the medium has had historically on the collective consciousness.
